What chance has Leicester got?

We've got a real chance of becoming a host city. With our central location, excellent transport links, and fine sporting pedigree, Leicester is perfect for helping host the competition. Along with fantastic support across all parts of the city and from the local media, we're confident we'll be bringing the World Cup to Leicester!

How many cities are bidding?

15 cities are bidding. We're expecting 12 to become host cities.

When's it all happening?

We're working on an outline bid to be given to the FA by July 8th, with our final bid document due to be submitted by November 26th. The FA will announce the host cities that will form part of England's bid to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals in December 2009.

What's in our bid?
We're highlighting Leicester's longstanding sporting pedigree; the Walkers' large seater stadium; our great training facilities; numerous transport links; impressive accommodation; ready made fan park sites; and overwhelming support from the people of the city and local media.
