If England and Leicester win the bid to host the World Cup then FIFA Fan Festivals will be set up at various locations around the city with the two main sites being Victoria Park and Abbey Park.
What is a ‘Fan Fest’?
A Fan Fest provides an opportunity for football fans and visitors to watch the world cup matches on a large screen. This creates an exciting atmosphere and is only second to the experience of actually watching the matches within the stadiums. The Fan Fests will run throughout the whole world cup period (approx. a month) and will also have activities on the non-match days. These areas will not only be used to screen matches but also there will be entertainment, stalls and activities to provide a lively experience for all the family. The Competition and Prize
Leicester City Council are offering young people from Leicester the chance to make their mark on the Leicester Fifa Fan Fests 2018. We’ve put together an exciting competition that will test your creative skills and give one lucky winner from each age group 4 tickets to the Christmas Show at De Montfort Hall. Entry to the competition is FREE.
What do I have to do to win?
Simply design your own Fan Fest! We want you to come up with ideas with regards to the use of the parks. What would you include in the programme activities for the world cup period? Perhaps you have some ideas for entertainment and ways to use the screens whilst there are no matches on. We’re looking for lively and imaginative themes, layouts, amusements and food stands for the parks.
What happens after I’ve sent in my design?
After the closing date, all of the designs and ideas will be looked at by our panel of judges who will pick the winning designs from each age group. The winning design will then be incorporated into the plans for the sites if Leicester are chosen as a host city for the FIFA World Cup in 2018.
